Research on the best foods for healthy skin is still limited. However, antioxidant-rich foods seem to have a protective effect for skin. Foods rich in antioxidants usually found in fruits and vegetables.

According to Lawrence E. Gibson, MD, a dermatologist from MayoClinic, some fruits and vegetables good for skin health, including carrots, apricots, oranges, blueberries, spinach and other green leafy vegetables, tomatoes, beans, peas and other legumes, and fish, particularly salmon.

On the other hand, there are foods that seem to be related with skin damage. For example, some research shows foods high in fat and carbohydrates promote skin aging.

Many foods are good for the skin are also good for overall health. For example, drink plenty of water, multiply the fruits and vegetables, fish, red meat, low fat milk or fat-free. Include nuts, seeds, beans, wheat bread and pasta, as well as reduce the candy.
