Substance called hemopressin it works by affecting parts of the brain that gives a signal when someone is enjoying snacks or cigarettes.
Tests showed that these brain regions hemopressin block and reduce the enjoyment of eating.
A synthetic product called rimonabant, which works in the brain to reduce hunger, developed six years ago and marketed as an anti-obesity drug.
But, the product appears to increase risk of depression and suicidal thoughts so withdrawn from the market.
Garron Dr. Dodd, one of the authors recently published the findings in the Journal of Neuroscience, believes hemopressin can suppress hunger without side effects.
In the tests, laboratory rats fed hemopressin will eat less.
